Vintage White Star Luggage with Blue Lining and Cruise Stickers

The label inside reads “Lined with Celanese Clairanese acetate taffeta styled by White Star Luggage”. Ads for this luggage in the 1950s boasted of the luxurious lining, extra wide cow hide binding and solid brass locks. 
 
This one belonged to Jean Overstreet (of the Burr family) who traveled extensively, the luggage bearing customs inspection stickers as well as cruise line baggage tags showing she sailed First Class on Holland-America Line’s New Amsterdam from NYC to Le Havre, France, in September 1966 and back on the French Line with this piece, staying at one point at the luxury Hotel Caruso Belvedere in Salerno.
 
We do not have keys for this and the luggage is obviously well-used with many signs of wear and tear. See photos for details.
