Vintage Tibetan/Nepalese Handmade Wool and Felt Boots

Hand stitched simple wool boots with felt embroidery of traditional motifs. The back has a slit as shown in photos. Soles are very hard, maybe bone, covered in hide or leather. (All others online say they are leather soles.) Likely worn by our mother during her time in Nepal 1966-1967. 
 
In good condition, with only a few loose threads, but the bottoms of the boots are discolored and the hide peeling in places.
 
Note: These were held up for photography using paper stuffing. They would be mailed rolled up around the soles.
 
Recommended as decor, not as actual footwear, but if you were considering them as footwear, our mother was close to a US size 7 and you will need straps to attach the to your shins. We tested them on our slightly larger feet and found them very slippery.
