Our understanding is this is a teapot used in Buddhist rituals. The short squat body above a flat pedestal base has a ‘candlestick’ style finger loop handle only ¼ of the way from the spout, which we believe has an embossed and chased silver base and silver tip. The lid is flat with rim which, when turned over, functions as a tray or plate that fits above the mouth of the teapot. Also found inside is a smaller plate, or saucer.

Most likely, this was purchased by our mother Nancy when she was living in Nepal 1966-1967. It does not appear to have ever been used.

Photos show these three pieces may have some wear and patina but are in very good condition for their age.
