Vintage Durgin-Park Market-Dining Rooms Bean Pot / Crock Pot (3 Quart)

Vintage Durgin-Park Market-Dining Rooms Bean Pot / Crock Pot (3 Quart)

$15.00Price

In great condition. Dark brown and cream colored with name and manufacturer symbol in blue. Minor stain and glaze smear on bottom of lid, and drips of glaze inside, minor imperfections part of the production process. Crack in opening as visible photos, but not loose. Bottom a bit scuffed. It appears to never have been used except as decor (this belonged to my late mother, possibly passed on to her by her parents or other relatives).

A great gift for collectors of old historic restaurant memorabilia or those with Boston connections.

Durgin-Park was a nearly 200-year-old Boston-based landmark in Faneuil Hall Marketplace famed for New England specials, sassy service, and communal tables. It opened in 1827 and closed on short notice in January 2019. It was named Durgin-Park in 1877 in memory of two of the original partners who had passed, the restaurant run continuously by the remaining partner John Chandler’s family from then until 1945 (no known relation to my family, also Chandlers). The crown is a symbol used by stoneware maker RRPCo (Robinson Ransbottom Co), the number signifying the number of quarts it holds.

On eBay, these usually sell for $ 30-40, although some have sold as low as what we are asking. We just want to find it a home.
