Vintage Bauble Potpourri Trinket Boxes (Set of 2)

These two elegant, dark-stained wood boxes were used as potpourri boxes by our grandmother. They come with scented mini pinecones, a gold-colored bauble, and a small amount of a used ½ oz bottle of the discontinued Bakir perfume (label worn but still legible) believed to be from the 1970s. (A full bottle of the perfume recently sold on eBay for $80!) They may have originally been tea boxes used by the Burr sisters.

The boxes have both been superglued back together at least twice before, once by us. We used wood glue to reattach a decorative piece to the inside of one’s cover and secure its loose base (which clearly had been glued back on at least once before). See the photo showing the inside of both boxes, the repaired one clearly not done by a professional... The other box has a tony chip as shown in photos. It is also worth noting that the wood color varies on different sides and between the two lids.

They could be repurposed to hold trinkets, keys, tea lights, or other items.

Please do not ask us what type of wood they are made of, as we have no idea. Looks like mahogany but no promises!
