TOTI 005 Long Cambodian Pidan (Buddhist Temple Cloth)

SKU: TOTI 005
$100.00Price

Elephants and what appear to be temples decorate this large piece of fabric.

An expert identified this as a Cambodian* canopy panel (pidan) to be used in a temple over or behind the Buddha figure.  The work that goes into the intricate handwoven details and dyeing makes them more valuable than you might think.

*Probably purchased in Thailand in Surin near Cambodia.

Imperfections include loose threads on the edges as shown in photos.

Material is believed to be cotton.
