TN 007 Indian Silk Embroidery with Indonesian Border

While the center section may appear Chinese, experts said it is an Indian imitation of Chinese silk embroidery. Our grandmother's notes confirmed the center section as being from India, the border from Sumatra with imported mat. 
 
A sticker inside marks the item as part of the rare collection of textiles inherited by our grandmother from the Burr sisters of San Francisco. This suggests it would have been purchased in India in the 1920s or 1930s.
 
There are several imperfections to this piece from holes and loose threads, to the peeling and stained mat behind the Indonesian section, and a few minor instances of running in the Indonesian section (the latter not shown in photos - just spotted as we worked on color corrections).
 
Material is believed to be silk and silver or metal coated thread in the Indonesian section.
