TN 005 Delicate Indian Silk (Early 1900s) - Damaged

SKU: TN 005
$100.00Price

This embroidered and mirror or mica-inlaid cranberry-color textile was inherited by our grandparents from Alice and Marion Burr of San Francisco society, who are believed to have bought it in India in the 1920s or earlier. It is extremely fragile and already has a big tear in the border as shown in photos. It also has several holes, missing mirrors, at least one patch, a couple of darned areas, and what appears to be incomplete stitching and loose threads. It is, however, a very special piece of our grandmother's collection.

Note: The flowers are not actually white, but cream as shown in the lower right corner of 'The Big Rip' photograph. We already rephotographed to get the cranberry color correct...

Material: Slk and mica reflective glass

W 49" x L 56"
