TJ 002 Japanese Kesa Buddhist Stole (Damaged)

SKU: TJ 002

White butterflies on a green or brown, and gold background among other imagery decorate this piece which changes color depending on the light. Composed of scraps of similar patterned silk swatches, this kesa has seen better days. As shown in photos, it has several stains and discoloration marks, a couple of holes, and some splitting along hems. The images on the panels are interesting however and may mean something to experts in Japanese textiles. There is also an old sticker attached behind one corner, illegible to us... The back panel is blue/green/purple silk which comes with rips, stains, water marks, and more, none of which have bled through thankfully.
