TI 002 Batik Motif Panels (Blessings Cloth)

This rare textile includes 24 panels depicting different Indonesian batik motifs, each with a different meaning . For example, sido-asih, usually worn by brides, symbolizes affection and harmony in domestic life. Among other motifs labeled on the fabric are semen-gembel, semen-sinom, saryunn- mangsah, ayam-alas, semanggi... (semen refers to spring, and the blossoming of something). Sewn together in a quilt pattern like this, the textile is similar to a blessings blanket. We leave it to the buyer to research each panel's meaning.
 
In good condition but here are some natural spots, minor fraying on the edges, barely visible patches (we had to go back and check as we saw it the first time we photographed this but not the second), a stain or two, and some tape residue on the back as shown in photos.
