TI O 053 Buginese Silk Sarongs (Set of 2)

The color-shifting properties of these beautiful hand woven single panel silk pieces cannot be captured by our cameras. The shimmering orange/gold and purple/pink tones change depending on the light. An expert confirmed our mother's notes regarding the origin of this piece, from Bugis in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. 
 
One piece is partly hemmed, the other (not photographed) is not, explaining the difference in sizes. Both have some loose threads, but otherwise do not appear to have ever been used.
 
Imperfections include some irregular stitches and dying, as well as loose threads.
 
Material is silk.
