This beautiful kesi 'cut silk' tapestry features a 'wild goose' perched on one leg on a rock above the ocean waves, surrounded by clouds and with the sun above. Per Google Image Search results, the wild goose was the ensigna of the fourth class rank. The back lining is a blue silk with some discoloration. There are some loose threads on the edges of the piece. It is hemmed in the middle as it was designed to be used on the front of a coat.

Believed to be from the mid 19th century, most likely purchased by the Burr sisters in China in the 1920s or 1930s.

We will probably send this piece to an auction house as we found similar ones online for up to six times the price.
