Old Brass Monk Begging Bowls (Set of 2) from Thailand

Corroded but characterful... the larger one in better condition but wobbly.
 
These are traditional Thai monks bowls, created by pressing together scraps, according to a friend who recognized them from a visit to a monks bowl village in the 1980s. She said they are meant to look ‘poor’ and are probably made of brass.
 
One heavily corroded: 2 1/2 x 3 7/8 x 2 1/4, 3.5oz
Better quality one: 2 3/4 x 4 1/8 x 4 1/8, 3.5 oz
