Jacqueline Page Sutliff: Arches-Macau Var II (1979) (27” x 21 1/4”)

While living in Thailand, American artist Jacquie was a great friend to our mother although we are confident our mother bought this from her because she absolutely loved it! 
 
This piece depicts the arches of a building in Macau, then officially a ‘Chinese territory under temporary Portuguese administration’. It is signed, titled, and dated. We believe the paper on which the image was silkscreened was handmade.
 
The artwork has a grey mat around the image and a white mat on top of that, which has a water stain near the bottom as visible in photos. It has reflective glass and a special wood frame which opens up for easy cleaning / replacement.
 
We have another similarly colored piece by the same artist that would make a nice pair to this one.
