Javanese Brass Teapot with Antique Patina

Believed to have been bought by our eccentric great grand aunts in the 1920s or 1930s, this Indonesian teapot comes with a chain attached to the lid, a movable handle, and a variety of patterns in the metal.
 
It is not in perfect condition. There is some 'calcification' around the spout base and in some of the notches near the base as shown in photos. Also, the lid has an upturned side and is a bit difficult to fit closed. We did not try to polish it as we have been told a  buyer would get much more joy out of getting to do the polishing. 
 
In case it needs saying, this piece is recommended as a decorative item, not an actual teapot.
