Burmese Bronze Water Buffalo Bell

Bronze bell with original bronze clapper attached by a old string draped from either bronze loop outside through the sides of the bell. While many online claim to be from the 19th century, and auction houses sell them for very high prices, we are guessing this was purchased by our mother either in Myanmar/Burma in the 1980s or in Thailand and is probably a reproduction, not an original antique.
 
Many collectors hang these from special stands as decorative objects.
