Antique Hinged-Lid Brass Watering Can (with Broken Carrying Handle)

In obvious need of polishing, this 4 pint watering can with both a pouring handle (intact) and a carrying handle (detached) is believed to be an antique of English origin from the late 1880s (based on others found online). The shape of the handles and spout look identical to ones spotted in antique auction houses for $ 100-295 but ours is simpler, without branding, slightly smaller, and is obviously broken. We did find 4 PT scratched into the base as shown in photos, which we assume means it fits 4 pints.
 
As mentioned above, it needs some serious polishing. There is also some hard debris attached to the bottom as shown in photos. 
 
It does, however, still work as a watering can without leaking. We are therefore pricing it to find it a home… maybe yours?
