Antique Hanging Copper Teapot (Broken) for Upcycling

As shown in the photos, the snakehead-shaped spout of this unpolished old teapot has broken off and it has some old glue or other debris that might make it difficult to weld back on. We were, however, able to have it sit in place, albeit not securely.

The knob on top of the lid is also loosely attached in a rather primitive way, possibly with a small piece of wood. The bottom shows at least one point of repair. See photos.

If placed without the spout hole showing (as we obviously did with our first photo), this rustic vintage piece could be interesting decor, and/or used as a planter.

The ‘cramp seams’ or ‘dovetailing’ on the bottom and side of the pot suggest it dates back to some time from the 1800s to 1950. The hand hammered irregular teapot top suggests it might date back to 1850-1900.

Regardless, the piece is of little value as is. We welcome any takers to give it a new life in one way or another!
