7 3/8” Pewter Candlesticks

These candlesticks are believed to be pewter, with four markings on the foot of both. From left to right on the candlestick where marks are more visible, the first may have the number 25, followed by a X symbol. On the right side is a mark with the number 30 or 50, followed by another mark with a dropped number 4. On the other candlestick, the marks 50 and 4 are reversed and the initial mark illegible. We were not able to identify them online. We did, however, learn that while marks on silver and gold were regulated, marks on pewter were not. 
 
These candlesticks are probably English in origin, estimated era unknown. They have rectangular bases and hollow interiors (no push up mechanism). 
 
Both have some scratches, stains, and a dark patina. One leans a bit. See photos.
