1919 – Land Use / San Francisco Printing Block
The map shows 1- and 2-family residential, multiple residential, commercia, light industry, heavy industry, utilities, institutional, parks, agricultural, and vacant land. Data Source: Sanborn Maps of San Francisco – 1919.
The printing block is a thick block of wood with wire hooks behind to enable hanging on the wall.
We believe this originally belonged to our distant relative Edmund Coffin Miller Burr (1846–1927) who was involved in city planning / rebuilding following the 1906 earthquake and fire as he owned a lot of land in the city.
