10 3/4” Brass Beehive and Diamond Motif with Tulip Sconce Candlestick Set

Very similar to another set we have (AC 002) but with a square base, more signs of age, and an intact push up mechanism with tag. These are believed to be of British origin, possibly dating back to the mid or late 1880s, based on comparables online, which are on priced $ 60-70 (excluding the websites that overprice everything!)
 
We don’t know if the push up mechanism is working (we are worried we will break it if we pull or push it too hard). We cannot read the tag on the base of the push up mechanism. 
 
We can tell this pair is older due to cracks and repair work done on the lower third of the candlestick. There are also several stains and spots of discoloration. We have not polished them. See photos for details.
